Kristin Carpenter PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT

Kristin Carpenter has been practicing physical therapy in Boulder since 2008, when she graduated from the University of Colorado Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.  She has been a certified provider of trigger point dry needling since 2010 and a board-certified specialist in the management of orthopaedic conditions since 2012.  Kristin is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT).  Her practice, MEND Physical Therapy is in 2 locations in the Boulder, Colorado area

Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (OMPT) is “a specialized area of physical therapy practice utilized in the management of musculoskeletal conditions and based on clinical reasoning and the use of highly specific manual techniques and exercise” (AAOMPT, 2011).   Kristin specializes in treatment of orthopaedic and sports injuries with an individualized treatment approach that consists of manual therapy, trigger point dry needling, exercise and education to empower her patients to be active participants in the management of their own health, wellness and performance.  Areas of expertise include: spinal (neck and back) pain and repetitive overuse injuries (endurance and overhead athletes).

Kristin is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.  She is actively engaged in the education of other physical therapists at a local and national level and has participated in numerous peer-reviewed studies investigating the effects of physical therapy in management of musculoskeletal conditions.  She is an avid runner (Boston 2:59:10) and former Ironman triathlete (Wisconsin 10:44) and enjoys running on Boulder’s trails trying to keep up with her husband, John, whenever possible!
